2022 Hope Games commences tomorrow

This year’s edition of the Hope Games for the Disabled among the students of the School for Special Needs will commence on Monday, November 7, and end on Friday November 11th, 2022, at the premises of the school.

The Games is being bankrolled by Fabiyi Foundation.

A release from the Sports Co-ordinator of the Hope Games, Mr Adebola Jatto said that various events leading to the final begins tomorrow, Monday, with the finals holding on Friday.

Among the events billed to begin on Monday are the heats to decide most of the athletics finalists, and they include long jump, javeline, discuss, 400m, 800m, 4x400m Deaf, 100m Blind, and Standings Long Jump Blind.

The school’s football team will engage Government Day Secondary School, Tepatan in a friendly football match at the school’s pitch, by 4pm, on Thursday November10th.

Expected to grace the football match as Special Guests of Honour are Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, who is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Special Apostle R. A. Adeoti, the Chairman of Abulenla Furniture, Ilorin and Chief (Alhaja) Wosilat Macarthy, the Chief Bolaselu of Offa, who is expected to be the Chairperson at the event.

Activities for the final day on Friday included the finals of the athletics events, especially 100m Deaf Boys and Girls, 100m Morons, 100m Boys and Girls, 4x100m Relay Deaf Boys and Girls, Invitation Relay for invited Secondary Schools and Staff Race.

Expected to grace the grand finale, which begins by 3.00pm on Friday is the state Governor, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, as the Special Guest of Honour,

Others are Alhaji Kamaru Ibitoye Yusuf, the Chief Executive Officer, KAM Industries Limited, Snr. Special Apostle J. O Awotuyi, the Chairman, Tuyil Pharmaceutical Limited, Ilorin, the Special Mother in Israel Bosede Adimaboa, C and S Movement, Ilorin, who will be the Chairperson of the day, and Alhaji Tunde AbdulKareem, Chairman, Kwara State Amateur Athletics Association.
