“This year’s edition of the competition, tagged “Mummy Olufolake catch them young 2022” will hold at Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, between 13th and 16th December, 2022.

“We held the first and second editions and all other youth development programmes we have been doing in the state in Ilorin, and this time around, we will take it to the other Local Governments, beginning with Irepodun Local Government Area.

The first edition of the competition held 2019, while the second edition, which was supposed to hold in year 2020 was shifted to 2021, due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

In the second edition last year, the First Lady gave table tennis board to each of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state as a way of creating additional awareness at the grassroots, and as well, stimulate mass participation of youths from the nooks and crannies of the state.

“Last year, the First Lady gave table tennis board to all the 16 Local Government Areas, and we want to see the results of the opportunities we have created with that initiative, which was a build-up on past achievements, aimed at boosting participation in the sport from the grassroots.

Comrade Dare commended the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for encouraging the needed atmosphere for youths to flourish and flower through sports, as well as Her Excellency, Ambassador (Dr) Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq, in whose honour the competition is being staged.
