Aluko pledges continuous support to sports, SWAN

Former Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Barrister Salihu Bamidele Aluko has pledged sustained support to the uplift of sports in Kwara in particular, and Nigeria in general.

Barrister Aluko, who made the pledge in Ilorin while celebrating his 60th birthday also promised to continue to identify with the Kwara state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

Family members, sports stakeholders and friends gather to felicitate with the former Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Council, first with a special prayer in his country home, and later at Henry George Hotel, Ilorin on Tuesday.

The Board member of the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) commended SWAN and other stakeholders in sports, who joined him in celebrating his birthday, adding that the support has re-awakened his resolve to do more for the development of sports.

The All Progressives Party (APC) stalwart commended the stakeholders for identifying with him, and coming around to celebrate him.

Kwara SWAN, led by its Chairman, Jimoh Bashir led other members to congratulate and identify with Barrister Aluko, who is the Patron of the body, and charging him to continue to develop humanity through sports.

Religious singer and Akewi, Popoola Aishat Olawanle, popularly known as Arikeakewi added value to the event with her song, singing the praise of the legal luminary.
