Barrier Foundation vowed to sustain legacies of late Coach

Fifteen years after the demise of late Coach A. A. Malik, his former players has continued to sustain the legacies of the late Prince from Oke-Ode, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state.

Late Coach Malik, former handler of the famous United Bombers Football Club of Ilorin died on August 6, 2006.

Following the impacts he had made on the lives of numerous players then, they came together to form Barrier Foundation, with the aim of sustaining his legacies.

The Foundation was also formed to discover and nurture young talents to stardom from the grassroots, as some of the players of the late are now coaches and administrators, while some are successful businessmen.

The Foundation has also fixed a meeting for July this year, during the ileya festive period, to initiate new programmes, in line with the ideals of late Coach Malik.

At the last meeting of the Foundation, members also donated money to support the two widows left behind by the late super handler.

Among those at the meeting, and who also contributed to the cause are Tunde Popo, Barrister Niyi Saka, Simmon, Funsh Muhammed, Isma’il Ajegunle, Coach Taofeeq Babatunde, Currently the Assistant Coach with Kwara United, Efena Patrick Ogodi, Agboola Oladokun Samad, Babatunde AbdulRaheem Bello, Kareem AbdulRafiu, also known as One Day, Tunde Adeniyi (Uche),  Sunday O. Abolarin,  Alhaji Jimoh Rabiu (Otiji), Aliyu Ajao Adekunle, Dr Ayo Adeyemi (Ayo Ogunlana), Coach Dipo Abolarin (Asper Conty), Abdullahi Hussein (Ige Junior), a Goalkeeper Trainer with Kwara United FC, and Oladimeji Momoh.

Others are Coach Abdullahi Biffo, who is currently the Technical Adviser of Kwara United FC, Yusf Olanrewaju (Referee), Coach Mukaila Olaniyi (Iyala-Iyala),Coach Baba Seriki, Oladele Abolarin (Radical), Coach Agbo Alabi, currently the Goalkeeper Trainer with Kwara United FC, Mr Sikiru Jimoh,  Mr Abdullahi Olanrewaju (Ige Senior),  Coach Debo Asamah, Mr Ogunleke Micheal (Captain) and Mr Tunde Olushola.

The Foundation said that efforts are on to track some of the former players, who are yet to join the crusade to do so.

The donations received was shared to the two wives of late Coach Malik, with a pledge to continue to support the family intermittently.
