The final of the second edition of Honourables Cup soccer competition will hold at the Oloffa Stadium in Offa, tomorrow, beginning from 2.00pm.
40 youth clubs in Kwara state and other neigbouring states participated in the competition, being sponsored by Hon. Abdulwaheed Gbenga Yusuf, who is representing Eesa/Shawo/Igboidun in the Kwara State House of Assembly.
In the semi-final matches, Laycon lost 5-4 to All Stars of Ikirun on penalties after a goalless draw at regulation time, while Young Antler of Ilorin also lost 1-5 to Hon. Bintilaye of Offa.
Laycon of Offa will square up against Young Antler of Ilorin by 2.00pm in the third place match, while Hon. Bintilaye of Offa takes on All Stars, Ikirun by 4pm in the final.
The eventual winner will smile home with a giant trophy and the sum of N150, 000. The second and third placed teams will get N100, 000 and N70, 000 respectively. Consolatory and individual prizes are also available.
The final tomorrow is expected to be graced by the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi, other House of Assembly members, State Executive Council members, as well as All Progressive Party (APC) members in the state.
The competition is being organized by the Offa chapter of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON).
