The Executive Committee of the Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria (Club Owners) have expressed concern over the challenges posed by the novel coronavirus pandemic which has forced the stoppage of football activities across the country and beyond.

Arising from an emergency Virtual meeting of the executive of the association held on Friday and monitored in Abuja, the association praised the management and owners of the various clubs for their steadfastness in meeting their obligations to their players and officials despite the economic challenges posed by the pandemic.

The meeting, which was presided over by the Chairman of the association and Nasarawa United FC boss, Barrister Isaac Danladi also extended its gratitude to the players, coaches, fans and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding of the prevailing circumstances.

He said the Club Owners Association are working closely with the League Management Company (LMC) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure that a specific date for the resumption of the new football season is arrived at, as soon as the relevant government agencies okay the resumption of sporting activities in Nigeria.

Danladi gave assurances that the coming league season would witness more innovations and greater transformation when it is resumed,  stressing that all the clubs are on the same page for a better and stronger league in the post Covid-19 era.
