Despite losing out to Lobi Stars in the semi-final of the 2nd edition of Prince Dapo Abiodun Pre-Season tournament in Ijebu-Ode, Kwara United FC expressed delight in the opportunity to have the players tested adequately ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

It was the second Pre-Season tournament that the team participated in ahead of the season, after their campaign in the 8th edition of Ogunjobi Gold Cup in Ilorin.

Lobi Stars scored the only goal of the highly tactical encounter in the 18th minute, through former Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC striker, Ossy Martins.
Kwara United FC dominated both halves of the match, and wasted multiple goal scoring opportunities.

But Head Coach of the side, Abdullahi Biffo said that the Pre-Season tournament has given his crew the insight into the loopholes in the team, pledging to work hard to correct the mistakes.

He said that the competition accorded him the opportunity to assess virtually all the players individually, and the whole team in particular.

Kwara United FC started the semi-final encounter with high hopes, especially on the backdrop of the great display in previous matches, but had to make early change following the first minute injury to Alao Dabani.
Michael Ohanu who replaced him pilled a lot of pressure on the Makurdi based team.

Kwara United FC drew two matches in the group stage, a one-al draw against Remo Stars, goalless draw with 3SC, and defeated Nilayo 3-0, to finish the group in second place.

They defeated Crown FC of Ogbomoso by a lone goal in the quarter-final, to draw Lobi Stars.

Lobi Stars will play 3SC in the final tomorrow.
