Draw against Abia Warriors, temporary setback for Kwara United –Biffo

The Technical Adviser of Kwara United Football Club, Coach Abdullahi Biffo has described the team’s one-all draw on Wednesday against Abia Warriors in the Matchday 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Ilorin as a temporary.

Kwara United FC came from behind to draw the hard fighting Abia Warriors of Umahia in the match decided at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.

Kwara United who went to the game with the mentality and spirit of picking the three maximum points, having lost to Rangers of Enugu over the weekend in the Matchday 11.

The team was at the top of the league table before the encounter, but the with draw, they lost the position to Kano Pillars who defeated Sunshine Stars FC by a lone goal in Kaduna.

Micheal Ohanu, Stephen Jude and Nosir Afeez were unable to convert their begging chances, and the visitors capitalized on the wastage to punish the hosts.

Abia Warriors Substitute, Mustapha Jibril scored for the visitors in the 66th minutes, as a reward for their brilliance performance in the second, half but the hope of the visitors going home with all three points was dashed as the unrelenting Kwara United leveled up through Alao Danbanni in the 90th minute.

In his post match analyses, Coach Biffo expressed concern over his players’ inability to take their chances when it mattered most, even as he said that the technical crew will to continue to work hard for better result in the subsequent matches.

While describing the draw as a temporary setback towards the team’s quest to finish the season on a high, he allayed the fears of Kwarans that the team will not break their hearts as efforts would be intensified to get more good results both at home and in away ties.
