Eagles: No official approach by NFF yet for Saka -Investigation

Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) will play the waiting game for the service of Arsenal youngster, Bukayo Saka after findings show that they are yet to make any contact with the player to make their intentions known.

Saka, who is already drawing attention from both England and Nigeria, revealed that he would be open to the idea of representing Nigeria at senior level despite already featuring for England at junior level.

Though investigations show that the 18-year-old is on the watch list of the NFF hierarchy, the federation however wants players to earn their right to play for the country and would not go about poaching any player to play for Nigeria.

With a long history of players of both English and Nigerian heritage, Saka remains very much eligible to play for the three-time African champions through his parents but will however look to take a cue from former Chelsea winger Victor Moses who opted to play for Nigeria and immediately became an African champion in 2013.

Both Nations are however blessed with an array of young and exciting players coming through the ranks, with the likes of Chukwueze and Osimhen proving that Saka could have an exciting squad to team up with should he decide to play for Nigeria.

The versatile full-back has featured in 38 games for Arsenal in his breakthrough season, scoring 4 goals whilst also chipping in 12 assists to stand a strong chance of being named the club’s best young player of the campaign.
