A special publication (soft copy and hard copy) to honour late football legend, Rashidi Yekini is expected to hit the stands on
October 23rd, 2020.
The book, which was written by former Complete Sports Reporter, Jonny Precious Ogba is another efforts to chronicle the life and times of the Kwara state born striker.
Jonny, who is now a Lawyer and Sports Manager in the United Kingdom in a telephone conversation with Sportspro News Publisher, Bayour Issah said he was inspired by the great performance of the legend who scored the first goal for Nigeria at the World Cup in 1994.
He stated that late Rashidi is an icon of football and with his undying spirit which stemmed out from his emphatic achievements, he is worthy to be celebrated.
The more reason why he decided to release the book on his birthday.
The publication is coming amid the recent calls by some stakeholders on Kwara state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrahman to re-name the Kwara State Stadium after the first Nigerian to be crowned African Footballer of the year in 1993.
Rashidi Yekini died on May 3rd, 2012.
