Ilorin based Engineer and committed soccer buff, Engr. Ahmed Olaide, has reiterated his determination to revamp and revitalize football from the grassroots in the state if elected as FA Chairman in the forthcoming FA election.

Engr. Ahmed Olaide who is the CEO of Cyteck Engineering Construction and Technology stated this while featuring on  Midland Fm Sports programme, Fast Track.

Engr Olaide explained that grassroots football is dead in the state, noting, there is no direction or cardinal policy as blueprint geared towards moving the game to the enviable heights has been abandoned.

According to Engr Olaide, “it’s unfortunate that grassroots football is not working any more in the state. Talents abound everywhere in all the 16 Local Government Areas, but wasting away as there is no platform to nurture them to stardom”

“Passion and flair to grow the game of football from the grassroots is one of the major reasons I’m vying for the Kwara FA exotic seat, and also intend to assist NFF to curb the menace of age cheat through proper planning and execution of developmental football programmes from all the 6 Local Government Areas.”

He however, solicited for the unflinching support of all and sundry, particularly stakeholders, to rally round him in his desires to transform the game of football in the state.
