It was celebration galore as Bola Mogaji adds another year

Celebration of icons are always different as two sports events were held to celebrate the birthday of the Executive Chairman of the Kwara state Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji yesterday Monday April 24, 2023, at the State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.

As a Sportsman and Sports administrator per excellence, athletes and stakeholders trooped out to the stadium to celebrate and rejoice  with the Executive Chairman of the Commission in appreciation of his immense contributions to sports development since assuming office.

The peak of the colourful celebration was the final of the Bola Black football competition organised in the name of the celebrant in appreciation of the positive developments he brought to sports in the state.

The competition put together by young and talented upcoming Coach Jimoh Abdulrafiu Akeju attracted football fans in Ilorin and its environs did not disappoint as both sides, Dickalo FC and Elite Football Academy dished out scintillating displays.

Dickalo FC who drew the first blood in the match was not lucky enough as Elite FA came from behind to win the game by two goals to one.

In the U-16 Squash event  that served as the curtain raiser of the celebration, Shuaib Giwa defeated Ibrahim Abdulazeez to lift the Boys first prize trophy while Aisat Abdulraheem dusted Balogun Loveth to cart home the Girls trophy.

Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion to show their love and support were the Chairman Kwara State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Hon. Awolola Olumide, Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriations, Hon. Ambali Olatunji Ibrahim, Chairman Kwara State Television, Hameed Adio, Former Directors of Sports, Tunde Kazeem and Atanda Alarape.

Others are, Director Kwara Football Academy, Ibrahim Bako, former Administrator, Kwara Football Academy, Kehinde Jimoh, former Nigeria Professional Football League Board member, Alhaji Owolabi Wopa, Director of Football, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC, Alloy Chukwuemeka, Chairman El-lado Motors Alhaji Mohammed Olatunji and a host of others.
