Kwara Assembly passes Sports Commission Bill into law

Kwara State House of Assembly in today’s plenary passed “Kwara State Sports Commission Amendment Bill’ 2021 into law.

The bill was passed after considering the report of the House Committee on Information, Youths, Sports, Culture and Tourism, chaired by a lawmaker representing Isin Constituency, Hon. Awolola Olumide Ayokunle.

Hon. Awolola convinced the House on the importance of the Commission in view of the submissions and observations of stakeholders at the Public Hearing conducted on the bill 

Lawmakers who spoke supported of the bill in their contributions, and advocated the need for the appointment of competent and qualified sports enthusiasts in the proposed Commission to engender effective service delivery.

Clerk of the House, Hajia Halimah Jummai Kperogi read the bill for the third time and final passage before it was eventually passed.

Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi therefore directed Clerk of the House to forward a clean copy of the bill for Governor’s assent.
