The Kwara State Football Association has visited traditional rulers in Kwara North to distribute sports kits as part of efforts to harmonize the Local Councils’ participation in football activities.
Chairman of the association, Malam Idris Abdullahi Musa paid courtesy visits to Baruten Local Government Area, where he was welcome by the Chairman of Baruten Football Council, Magistrate Ahmed Boro to officially presents the kits branded by leading Sportswear Company in the country, Owu Sports to the traditional rulers which includes the Emir of Okuta, Abubakar Idris Shero, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Halidu, Emir of Ilesha Baruba and the ruler of Yashikira, Umar Usman Sarki.
The visit also geared towards educating and advising teams in the districts to register for the upcoming Kwara State Super League and other football events in the state.
According to Malam Musa, the Emir of Yashikira paid the registration fee for his community to further reinstate his commitments to football development while another club has similarly signified their intention to participate in the championship which is expected to start by March.
Further visits have been earmarked for Gwanara Community to round up Baruten Local Government Area, with Kaiama and others to follow.
The FA kick-started the distribution exercise last year in Ilorin during a visit to the palace of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Emir of Ilorin.
