Kwara stadium shop owners appeals to KWIRS

Kwara State Stadium Complex Shop Owners has appealed to the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) to exercise patience with their members who are yet to pay their taxes for this year.

The Complex was closed up by the authorities of the Kwara State Sports Council since March 26th, in line with government’s directives to close down businesses, as a way to check the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement by Engr. Jude Ezealaji of Olympic Sports Stores, he said that since the Complex was locked up, there have been no activities and sales, as their members now struggle to make ends meet.

He also added that their members have benefitted no palliative whatsoever, since the lock down occasioned by the pandemic.

He averred that it’s their obligation to pay tax, but the situation on ground has made things worst and gradually becoming unbearable, adding that those affected will pay up when the situation improves.

Ezealaji commended the government for all its efforts at fighting the spread of the virus.
