Kwara State Basketball Association mourns NBBF referee

Kwara State Basketball Association has received the death of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) referee, Razaq Okedeyi in rude Shock.


An emotional message by the Chairman of the Association, Dr Joseph Adeyemo, made available by Bello Azeez, said the body and the basketball family in Kwara are in total disbelief over the incident which happened on Thursday.


‘We are very shell-shocked by his sudden death, It’s quite upsetting, Razaq was a young chap who always showed an unequivocal devotion to refereeing’.


‘We condole with everyone touched by our brother’s death and our sympathies goes to his families; it is a sad Thursday for the refereeing fraternity and the entire Nigeria Basketball, May his soul rest in peace,’ he said

Early this year, Razaq Okedeyi and other FIBA accredited referees delivered basketball referees and table officials course in Ilorin, and also anchored the recent online South West Zonal Referees training Programme that took place last week. 


Untill his death, Razaq was a member of the Nigerian Basketball Referees Council and the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Lagos State Referees Council as well as the Founder and Head Coach of Flygerian Basketball Academy.
