Elections into the Executive Board of the Kwara State Football Association still remains Tuesday June 13th, 2023, in the ancient town of Kaiama, in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
This is against the believe in some.quarters, as contained in a statement earlier made public concerning the issue, which the FA frowned at.
In a release by the FA, signed by tbe Secretary of the body, Kashim Agaka, June 13th, 2023 was endorsed by the Congress of the FA which held at Mandate Hotel, Iloffa, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the state on Saturday May 13th, 2023.
According to him, the Extra Ordinary Assembly, which was staged to primarily discuss elections issues approved the date, just to ensure that there would be no vacuum, as the tenure of the present Board expires same day.
He said that the Congress had sanctioned the date, and it has become law, and can be henceforth, altered by the same Congress, in the case of false majure.
“The June 13th date is sacrosanct. Its therefore, the duty of the Electoral and Appeal Committees to work in line with that date, and equally liaise with the Board of the FA as the case may be.
The FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa yesterday naugurated the Electoral and Appeal Committees ahead of the State’s FA Board elections, with a charge to discharge their duties in line with the provisions in the Electoral Code, Rules and Regulations and Statutes of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Retired FIFA Referee and CAF Instructor, Emmanuel Dada Obafemi is the new Chairman of the Electoral Committee, while Professor AbdulGafar Ijaiya, former Director of Sports, Mrs Serah Adebola Esan, Alhaji Sule Abass and Oke Mohammed Jimoh are members.
The Appeal Committee members include Mallam Yunusa Jimoh Kehinde as Chairman, Alhaji AbdulKareem Ayinde, Dr Mobolaji Ojibara, Bunmi Adedoyin, Aliyu Baba are members.
The FA Secretary, Kashim Agaka will serve as the Secretary of the two Committees.
