Kwara SWAN Congress to hold Monday October 24th

The Congress of the Kwara State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has been scheduled to come up at the Conference Room of the Kwara State Sports Commission on Monday October 24th, beginning from 3.30pm.

The Congress will discuss sports development in the, way forward, especially ahead of the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Delta state, and other related issues.

Also to be discussed is the issue of Kwara SWAN election, following the expiration of the tenure of the present Executives, and the constitution of an Electoral Committee towards holding a new election.

Equally, the Congress will deliberate on the National SWAN Elections, which has been fixed for January 2023.

A release by the Secretary of the body, Olayinka Owolewa therefore enjoined members to attend, and be punctual, as serious issues affecting members, especially as it concerns welfare will be discussed.

The Congress will also discuss the current state of sports development in the state, vis-a-vis the roles and inputs of SWAN member, with a view to reviewing them.

The Congress, Owolewa added, will coincide with the Press Conference that will be addressed by the Chairman of Kwara United FC, Kumbi Titiloye, in the aftermath of the team’s ouster from the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup competition.

Also expected to join the Chairman in addressing the press is the Head Coach, Abdulazeez Mohammed and the Captain, Bamidele Aiyenugba, who will be talking on their experiences in the competition.

Expected to grace the occasion is the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji.
