The Kwara State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has constituted the 2021 Media Games Committee.
Announcing the Committee at the Congress of the association on Wednesday in Ilorin, the Chairman, Jimoh Bashir said the eleven-man Committee will be Chaired by a veteran Squash Coach, Mallam Bola Magaji.
The Committee has been charged to organise a befitting SWAN Media Games, which is a multi-sports event among media organizations in the state.
Other members of the Committee are Bayour Issah, Jimoh Bashir, AbdulRosheed Okiki, Abdul Momoh, Bushra Yusuf, representatives of the Sports Council, NUJ, RATTAWU and NAWOJ.
In his acceptance speech, Coach Bola Magaji commended the leadership of Kwara SWAN for their laudable and inclusive programmes, noting that he was overwhelmed for counting him worthy to serve in the capacity as the Chairman of the Media Games Committee.
He assured the body of his readiness to organise a sporting event without fair or favour, and in accordance with the ethics of the association.
Kwara SWAN has however, received a trophy donated by the Pro-Games, in memory of late Jide Fashikun, and arrangements is being been fine-tuned by the association to organize an U-17 memorial competition, in collaboration with PhreeStyle Sports and Pro-Games.
The competition has been fixed to hold later this month.
