Kwara United unveils Coach Dogo as Technical Adviser

Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo was today unveiled as the new Technical Adviser of Kwara United Football, after which he said that his first major responsibility was to stabilize the team in the ongoing 2022/2023 Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The former Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club gaffer, who was unveiled at the Club’s Secretariat at the Kwara State Stadium Complex expressed delight joining Kwara United Football Club, adding that the job is more of a service to his community and state, more than anything else.

“I thank the state government, the management and Kwarans for the opportunity offered me to serve my state. It’s a long time dream. It’s the dream of any coach to handle a club from his state, and with Kwara United FC that is a big brand, I am happy to e be part of its history.

“I have worked here before, but with a different club. It’s the same terrain, but with a different challenge. I am not promising anything beyond achieving stability, especially on the backdrop of the current placement of the club on the table. I assure you all that the club will progress, with the support of all.

Coach Dogo commended Coaches Usman Abdullahi Biffo and Azeez Mohammed for what they have achieved with the club, adding that he will try to build positively on the foundation they have laid.

While unveiling the Coach, the General Manager of the club, Bashir Badawiy said that the management has confidence in Coach Dogo to deliver, pointing out that they club engaged him to sustain the huge standard already set by the club, especially in the last three seasons.

“Coach Dogo is a disciplinarian, and we know he can do it, and that was why we settled for him. We already set a standard, which includes, but not limited to qualifying for the continental competition, and we want the coach that can sustain that record.

He said that the management has pledged to give him whatever he needs to succeed as the Technical Adviser of the club, and will not also interfere in technical matters.

Badawiy thanked the state government, under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Sports Commission, Fans, Supporters and stakeholders for their support to the team.

While analyzing the team’s performances in the first round, Badawiy said that playing all the matches away from home has ready affected the team, as the team is greatly missing the support of its fans.

“Playing away from home makes the season more difficult. The fans factor is very important. It’s a terrible thing playing away from home, especially spending more, but I want to assure you that Kwara United will be battle ready for the second round”, he assured.

Also present at the unveiling ceremony are Arch. Olubunmi Komolafe, who owns Dickalo Waters, one of the sponsors of the team. He pledged continuous support to the team and the coach, whom he described as his personal coach.

Others are the Secretary, Mallam Hamidu Olowo, the Team Manager, Yahaya Jibril, Pharmacist Lanre Alege and Bamidele Ajadi, who are both Board members, the Team’s Lawyer, Edun Abdulkadri and others.

The contract is to the end of the season, with the option of renewal based on performance.
