The League Management Committee (ALMC) of the most prestigious youth league in the country, Kwara Youth League has announced the commencement of the league’s Super Six tournament.

Although the league was placed on hold because of the outbreak of coronavirus earlier in the year, the first round of matches has been concluded with Kwara Football Academy (KFA) leading the table of twelve teams.

After the resumption of football, the League Management Committee (LMC) decided to organize a Super Six tournament to conclude the 2019/2020 season.

The date for the commencement of the Super Six tournament was picked during a general meeting of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) Kwara State Chapter.

During the meeting, it was agreed that Friday, November 20 should be the commencement date for the tournament while the final should be played on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

After the meeting, the Chairman of the League Management Committee, Tunde Sanni disclosed the reasons of choosing the dates for the tournament.

According to him, the LMC intended to conclude the season before the commencement of school exams and test so that the students can focus on their education.

“We considered the players who are still in school and would be starting their exams and test soon. We don’t want to distract them – that’s why we need to conclude the season this month.”

“Also, we need to start preparation for the next season of the league.”

These are the six teams participating in the tournament, Kwara Football Academy KFA, SC Primisport Lasora, Future Stars, Koller Football Academy, ABS Youth Team, and LA Planet Sport Academia.

The first three teams mentioned above are placed in the Group A while the last three teams are placed in Group B.
