Lobi Stars poised to end five games winless run against Pillars

Lobi Stars will on Sunday 21st Febuary, 2021 in an NPFL Match number 106, Day 11 seek to end their five match winless run as they take on Kano Pillars inside the Main-Bowl of the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

The pride of Benue suffered  goal drought by scoring only one goal in five games, which directly affected the results in their last five games as they ended three games in barren draw, losing two games by 2-1 to Kwara United and 2-0 to Heartland FC, recoding three points best of 15.

Kano Pillars on the other hand, has been riding on high, having come from behind wining four of their last five games against only one defeat to achieve 12 points best of 15.

Lobi Stars have been on a downward slide the ladder from 3rd position to 12th position as a direct result of the last five games, while Kano Pillars have been on the rise in the period under review. 

Both teams played a total number of 24 games head to head with Lobi Stars winning eight while Pillars hold nine wins with seven draws in between. Comparatively in their last five head to head, Lobi Stars won two, while Pillars equally won two, with one draw standing between. Interestingly each had had an away win over the other in the reviewed period of five head to head games.

As it stands, Lobi Stars for the first time since Matchday 6, will be playing with the nearest compliment of the first choices. With fleet footed Ossy Martins who will be on duty for the second game after his red card suspension, to be complimented by Mathias Samuel and Lazarus John returning from injury while Zenke who was on medical excuse for three games is fully in shape for the great game. 

Kano Pillars will be in big trouble as the end of the winless run of Lobi Stars is in view this Sunday.
