NPFL: Three Kwara United players selected in Team of Week One

Three Kwara United Football Club players have been named in the team of the Week, in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that commenced last weekend.

The team, which had players selected from seven different clubs has Coach Abdullahi Biffo of Kwara United FC as it’s handler.

The new season gets underway on Sunday December 27th, after the previous season was terminated abruptly, at Week 24th, in March 2020, following the outbreak of Covid-19.

Kwara United FC played away from home, against Plateau United FC, at the New Jos Stadium, and defeated the home side 0-2 in a crucial encounter.

Goalkeeper Abdullateef Ishola, who was at his best throughout the game was picked as the Best Goalkeeper for Week One of the NPFL, while defender Bashir Monsuru, and the scorer of Kwara United’s first goal in the match, Jide Fatokun were selected to be part of the team.

Paring Monsuru in the defense in the 4-3-3 formation are Ifeanyi Anaemena of Rivers United, Reuben Nicodemus of Nasarawa United and Chidera Eze of Heartland FC.

In the midfield are Fatai Abdullahi of Abia Warriors,  Samuel Mathias  of FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars.

Fortune Omoniwari  of Rivers United leads two other players in the attack. They are Boubkr Massaly of Katsina United and Jide Fatokun of Kwara United.
