Paris 2024: Kwara United GM charges players on dedication, discipline

The General Manager of Kwara United Football Club,  Bashir Badawiy has charged the players who were invited from the team to the national U23 team to be good ambassadors of the team and the country.

The duo of Chisom Samuel and Jimoh Ahmed were invited from Kwara United as Head Coach of the team, Salisu Yusuf  called 30 players to camp ahead of this month’s Africa U23 Cup of Nations final qualifying fixture against Guinea.

Addressing players at the training this evening, Badawiy said that the players must work hard to justify their invitation to the national team, and to be good representatives of the club and country.

“I will want to congratulate you on behalf of the club, and to charge you to remain disciplined, dedicated and be focused on the challenges ahead.

“You must realise that your invitation is a great opportunity, which you must not misuse.

Nigeria, conquerors of Tanzania in the second round of the race, will host the first leg of the fixture against Guinea at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Wednesday, 22nd March.

The invited players have already reported at the Chida Hotel, Abuja since Friday, 3rd March, ahead of the contingent’s departure to the Oyo State capital.

In the second round of the series, the Olympic Eagles drew 1-1 with Tanzania in Dar es Salaam, and then spanked their visitors 2-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium a week later.
