Patigi to host 3rd Round Nigeria Beach Soccer League, as Patron receives team

Patron of Kwara State Beach Soccer Association, Prince Oladimeji Thompson has pledged contineous support to the development of the sport, even as he threw his weight behind the 3rd Round of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League scheduled for Patigi Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking during a reception at Henry George Hotel, Ilorin, for the Kwara team that just returned from Kebbi state, where they participated in the 2nd Round of the league, the former Chairman of Kwara United FC commended the team for their sacrifice and commitment.

He said that the association will partner the government and relevant stakeholders to ensure hosting of the league successfully, in Patigi.

Earlier in his address, the Coordinator of the team, Saraki Rasheed described Prince Oladimeji as a solid pillar behind the development of the sport since 2019, adding that the journey has taken the team to Lafiagi, Lagos, Abuja and Kebbi.

He said that the team will do it’s best to qualify for the Super Four in Kaduna state.

The trio of the Technical Adviser, Coach Paul Odey, the Chief Coach, Olalekan Lawal Oloyede and the Captain of the team, Seun Ogunlana thanked the Patron, Prince Oladimeji Thompson for his support, pledging to work hard to qualify for the next level.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Patigi Football Council, Engr. Idris Jibril said that Patigi Local Government is ready to host a befitting competition, especially with the support of the government and the stakeholders, who include Alhaji Ahman Patigi.

He described the team as phase setters. 

Also present at the reception is a Board member of the Association, Hafsat Yusuf.
