All is now set for the commencement of the 2nd edition of the Governor Nyesom Wike Pre-Season tournament, holding at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The tournament runs from 6th to 14th November 2020.
The competition which is specifically organized to prepare teams for the new football season will see prestigious clubs slugging it out for the coveted trophy.
According to the Coordinator of the event, Bashir Badawiy, teams expected for the tourney are Enyimba, Abia Warriors, Rivers United, Plateau United, Vandrezzer, Kwara United, Nasarawa United, Akwa United, MFM FC, Niger Tornadoes, Lobi Stars, Gombe United, Bayelsa United, Bendel Insurance, Goddosky FC, Heartland and Cynosure FC.
He said that over 500 footballers, officials, journalists are expected to storm Port Harcourt to participate in the week-long tournament
Badawiy said “the draws of the tournament will hold on Thursday, when all the teams must have arrived.
Matches will begin on Friday 6th November.
