Skill FC wins 2nd Gaa-Akanbi football competition

Skill Football Club of Ilorin has won the second edition of Gaa-Akanbi football competition decided on Sunday, at Shaaba LGEA Primary School pitch, Ga’a Akanbi, Ilorin, Kwara state.


The winners scored two second half goals to cancel the early goal scored by their opponent, JP Football Club, to win the top prize at stake.


Twenty four teams participated in this tournament, which was introduced to encourage togetherness in Ga’a Akanbi and it’s environs.


The organiser of the tournament, who was former player of Kwara United Football Club, Mallam Abolarinwa Bashir in an interview with newsmen, said the competition was introduced to serve as a platform to build culture of peace, and to discover hidden talents that would be useful to Nigeria in the nearest future.


He added that the competition was organized as a platform to engage youths and ensure that they embrace peace and understanding in dealing with every situation capable of causing mayhem.


Abolarinwa Bashir added that the competition is to serve as a platform to foster unity and understanding among the people.
