Special Adviser on Sports urges Kwara athletes to redouble efforts

As the countdown to the 21st edition of the National Sports Festival begins, the Special Adviser on Sports and Youth Development to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Mallam Attahiru Ibrahim has made a passionate appeal to sports men and women in the State to redouble their efforts in ensuring an optimal performance of the State at the event.

 

Mallam Attahiru, a former Volleyball player told our correspondent in Ilorin that the state government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman has committed much to renovate

the Kwara State Stadium and with the facilities in place, Athletes must strive to win laurels as the festival draw nearer.

 

The Talban Samari Patigi who was an outstanding volleyball spiker in his school days at Government Secondary School Ilorin stressed that the only way to compliment the government huge investment is for Athletes to up their game in different fields.

 

He expressed confidence in the Kwara State Sports Commission to churn out talented athletes in all the nooks and crannies of the state to build a winning team that will mount the podium to make Kwara State proud at festival billed for Asaba, Delta State.

 

Attahiru also opined that earlier preparations towards the festival will be the required leverage to sprout at any competition apart from the sports festival.

 

A widely travelled Attahiru resonates his sports experiences in the United States, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom,South Africa and other part of the world where sports is used to drive the economy.

 

Mallam Attahiru Ibrahim assured athletes and sports lovers in the state that a new dawn in sports development is now the order of the day under AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq-led administration.

 

The Kwara State Sports festival will hold in few weeks to come, to discover and prepare the contingents to Asaba for the National Sports Festival.
