According to him, “The Sports Commission is going to be pro-active, and will be without bureaucracy, and with this opportunity, we are going to witness tremendous development which will be all encompassing”, he said.

“When you move from one level to the other, from Sports Council to Sports Commission, there is no how you will not have changes that will not have one or two things that borders on principles, and the principles will be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board”.

He said that Local Government and Zonal Offices will be opened, to ensure that the grassroots development plans be adequately achieved, adding that some of the programmes will be carried out through sponsorship and partnership.

“In the Commission, we will have a team of people that will seek for sponsorship and partnerships, even with the Local Government Areas. We also hope to seek for sponsorship and partnership from outside the country to develop Kwara sports”

The former Technical Chairman of Nigeria Squash Federation commended the state government for renovating some of the facilities at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, and also constructing new ones, all of which he said, will further assist the discovery and grooming of athletes.

“We will need to motivate athletes, and more importantly, we must have the facilities, because, there is no how we can work without the facilities. Thank God His Excellency is working on the facilities. Renovations are ongoing at the swimming pool and squash courts, while that of the twin basketball and volleyball courts as well as the handball courts have been completed. Eight glass-back squash court is under construction, and very soon, work will commence of the new table tennis hall”, he added.
