SWAN to hold Seminar on Covid-19 and sports Friday

The leadership of the Kwara State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) will on Friday, December 18, hold a Seminar for members and sports stakeholders.

According to a statement on Tuesday, signed by the state Secretary of the association, Olayinka Owolewa, Dr Joseph Adeyemo, the Chief Medical Director of Olutayo Hospital is to deliver a lecture on the topic: Covid-19 and emerging challenges in sporting world.

Dr. Adeyemo is also the Chairman of Kwara Falcons Basketball Club, and member of the Task Force on Covid-19 in the state.

Owolewa in the statement explained that major stakeholders in the state have been invited to grace the occasion and also to benefit from the seminar.

The Statement revealed that the seminar will hold at the Mandate Hall of Radio Kwara, Police Road, GRA, Ilorin, beginning from 9:00 am prompt.

Among those expected at the seminar are the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mrs. Joana Nnazua Kolo, the SA Sports, Mallam Attahiru Ibrahim, Chairmen of Sports Associations, General Managers of Media Houses in the state, the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Alarape Atanda, Chairmen of Football Clubs and the Kwara FA, led by Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, Players Union, Referees Council, the Red Cross Society and other sports bodies and institutions.

also expected to grace the occasion are the Patrons of the body, Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thompson and Barrister Salihu Bamidele Aluko, Chairman of Kwara United FC, Kumbi Titiloye, the General Manager of the Club, Bashir Badawiy, the Director of Football, ABS Ilorin FC, Alloy Chukwuemeka, Alhaji Toyin Olokoba, Hajia Segilola Alaya and Chief Mrs. Abimbola Olaoye, among others.

The Kwara SWAN Scribe urged all members across the media organizations in the state to be seated latest by 9am.
