Thirteen years old Junior Secondary School student of Government Secondary School, Barracks Road, Calabar, Bright Samuel Ettah has pledged to pursue a career in football, as well as refereeing.

Ettah, who took after his father, Samuel Ettah in refereeing plays for Paragon Football Academy in Calabar, and is also a registered member of Cross Rivers Referees Council.

Ettah was one of the referees that officiated some matches of the ongoing Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club Players Talent Hunt and Development Programme in the South South Zone, in Calabar today Friday August 2, 2024, at Cross Rivers Basin Development Authority pitch, Calabar.

Junior Ettah joined Paragon Academy in 2019, and enrolled as a referee in year 2020, and has so far, done over 100 matches in different competitions within the state.

He was influenced by his father, a footballer and referee, to join the trade.

“My father actually wanted my sister to join refereeing, but my mother thought she could do well in other vocations. From there, I picked the interest to join refereeing, and my father is my role model in this.

“My father is popularly known as Stone in football world. I intend to go far on this, hoping to surpass whatever my father has invested into it.

Young Ettah displayed absolute confidence and concentration in all the matches he handled, and said he fears no intimidation whatsoever, when performing his duties.

“I have done numerous matches, and have grown with then. I don’t feel intimidated at all. I do my job without fear.

“I equally have passion for football. I will continue to play the game and also see where it will take me to.
