The Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and one of Nigeria’s most dedicated and influential sports administrators, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka has rated and classified the opening ceremony of the 22nd national sports festival in Ogun state, as world class.

He added that such glamorous and top class ceremony will send a very pleasing message to the entire nation and the world at large.

Adeboye made this heartwarming assertion while speaking to pressmen. He averred that Ogun state has sent a good message to the entire nation for such a special and colourful event that will flourish in memories for a life time.

“Ogun state has sent a very strong message to the entire nation and the world at large. This kind of of opening ceremony is equivalent to what you see at major events in the world, the standard they have set will live with us for decades to come, I give kudos to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the MOC and the LOC and the entire people of Ogun for such glorious ceremony”, he said.

“With such a glamorous and well structured opening ceremony, we are in for a very wonderful and great sports festival. From the presidential level and the Sports Commission, we will continue to give our total support to ensure a hitch-free and successful National Sports Festival, “he added.

“This our own Olympics, and we have to make the world see and understand that we are richly blessed in sports, culture and abundance of talents in this country, and Ogun has made us proud by showcasing such heavenly packed event”, he concluded.

The 22nd National Sports Festival, the Gateway Games 2024 got underway with the opening ceremony yesterday Sunday May 18, 2025, and the festival will climax on 30th of May 2025.
