Arsenal Kiddies Football Academy lifts Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu Kids Cup trophy

The sun shone brightly at the A’ Division Police playing field, as Arsenal Kiddies Football Academy prepared to face off against their rivals, Koller Football Academy, in the highly anticipated final of the 6th edition of the Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu Kids Cup.

The young players from Arsenal Kiddies were buzzing with excitement and nerves as they took to the field.

Their Coach, Mr. Soni Ahamioje, a seasoned grassroots football expert, reminded them of the hard work and dedication that had brought them to this moment.

The whistle blew, and the game was underway. The kids from both teams showcased their skills, dribbling, passing, and shooting with precision and passion.

The crowd cheered and chanted, urging their favorite team on. The young players from both teams were determined to bring home the trophy.

The match progressed with a good display of soccer artistry from both teams. But it was Arsenal Kiddies who struck first, through their striker, Bolu Farusike, who scored a beautiful header in the 20th minute of the first half. The crowd erupted in cheers as the team took a 1-0 lead into half time.

The second half was just as intense, with both teams creating scoring opportunities. But Arsenal Kiddies’ defense held strong, and their offense struck again in the 40th minute through a well-taken telegraphic volley by the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament and star boy, Ibikunle Kadiri.

The second goal sealed the win for Arsenal Kiddies, who emerged victorious with a 2-0 triumph over Koller FA.

The team celebrated their hard-earned victory wildly, hugging each other and cheering.

Mallam Ademola Kiyesola, the Chairman of the Kwara State YSFON, presented the trophy to the team Captain, Master Ogomide Ogunleye, and the players lifted it aloft, basking in the glory of their championship win.

Arsenal Kiddies’ Football Academy success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to nurturing young talents at the grassroots level.

The annual kiddies soccer fiesta, now in its sixth year, is sponsored by a USA-based medical practitioner and philanthropist, Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, who congratulated both teams for their hard work, dedication, and passion.

“There are no loosers in this tournament; everyone is a winner. You young players are the future of Nigerian football,” Dr. Ogbolu said.

“Keep working hard, and never give up on your dreams. You must also prioritize your education and combine your football career with quality learning”, he added.
