DoS pledges support to Kwara Ladies FC, AYSOF

The Director of Sports, Kwara State Sports Council, Mallam Alarape Ibrahim Atanda has pledged total support for the development of female football in the state, especially the state’s Premier League Club, Kwara Ladies Football Club.

while receiving the management and technical crew of the team and executives of the Africa Youth Sports Federation, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Conference Room of the Sports Council on Wednesday, Mallam Alarape congratulated the team for qualifying for the Premier League at the play-off in Edo state, adding that the team has indeed, made the state proud in doing so.

He charged the players to remain disciplined, as he also enjoined the technical crew to design personal training programmes for the players, especially during this Covid-19 period, to ensure they sustain their fitness.

He also praised the Africa Youth Sports Federation for their efforts at developing Nigerian youths meaningfully.

The visit was also graced by the Secretary of the Council, Mr. Adebisi Abayomi James, and the Stadium Manager, Mr. Tajudeen Wale Obalola.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Kwara Ladies Football Club, Mallam Mohammed Jimoh Daudu said that the team has represented the state in various competitions, including the National Sports Festival, and is still waxing stronger, despite financial and other challenges.

He commended the wife of Kwara Governor, Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq for her support to the team, especially before, during and after the play-off in Edo state, and during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

While congratulating the Director of Sports, he prayed Almighty Allah to grant him the wisdom with which to successfully pilot the affairs of the Council.
