As the 22nd National Sports Festival, Gateway Games 2024 kicks-off in earnest in Ogun, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Magaji has charged the state’s athletes to maintain their focus and determination in pursuit of medals.
In an interview at Abeokuta on May 18, 2024, Magaji expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, saying, “I’m confident we’ll surpass our previous medal count. My athletes are primed to deliver exceptional performances and make a lasting impact.”
Mogaji also counseled coaches to remain composed under pressure and ensure timely arrivals at venues.
“Stay calm, and make sure you’re at the venue before the official starting time,” he advised.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s support for the team was highlighted by Magaji, who noted, “His Excellency and the entire state of Kwara are behind our team, backing their efforts and cheering them on.”
With the athletes and coaches ready, Kwara State is set to make a strong showing at the Gateway Games 2024.
