Family, friends, colleagues bid farewell to late Veteran Journalist, Mallam Yusuf Feruke

It was a moment of grief and reflection in Offa, Kwara State, as friends, family members, and colleagues trooped out en masse to attend the final burial rites of the late Mallam Yusuf Feruke, held today, Thursday November 6, 2025, at the Muslim Cemetery in Offa Kwara state.

The Chief Imam of Offa, Sheik Salman Hussein led the Janaza prayer and offered heartfelt prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

In his sermon, Imam offa called on Muslims to live a life of purpose and good deeds that would speak for them after death, emphasizing the importance of righteousness and service to humanity.

Similarly, Imam Salman Hussein urged the family to take solace in the will of Almighty Allah, describing death as an inevitable end for every mortal.

The Islamic encouraged them to remain steadfast and accept the passing of the late Mallam Feruke as part of divine destiny.

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, was fully represented at the funeral, with a delegation led by members of the Executive Council, Mr Abdul Momoh and Mr Sodiq Adebara.

The delegation joined other sympathizers in offering prayers and paying their last respects to their departed colleague.

Also in attendance was the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Magaji, who led board members and staff of the Commission to the burial.

Speaking after the prayer, Mallam Magaji described the late Mallam Feruke as a “rare gem” and a “top-notch personality,” noting that he was known for his humility, dedication, and hard work throughout his service years.

Mallam Bolakale gaji noted that the late Feruke’s commitment to duty and his contributions to sports development in Kwara State would continue to be remembered.

The late Malam Yusuf Feruke was widely admired for his professionalism, simplicity, and dedication to journalism.

The late veteran Journalist touched many lives through his work and left behind a legacy of integrity and service.

He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Prayers were offered for Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and eternal rest for his soul.
