Galatasaray keen to sign Onyekuru on permanent deal

Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are adamant with their decision to sign Henry Onyekuru on permanent transfer from Monaco this summer, reports Completesports.

Onyekuru linked up with Galatasaray on a six-month loan deal in January after failing to secure regular playing berth at the French Li gue outfit.

The versatile winger made four league appearances for the principality club with Islam Slimani, Wissam Ben Yedder and Gelson Martins ahead of him in the pecking order.

Galatasaray manager Fathi Terim is a known admirer of the 23-year-old who scored 14 goals in 31 league appearances during his previous loan stint at the club.

Monaco, according to reports are not willing sell the Nigeria international especially with Algerian forward Slimani expected to return to his parent club Leicester City at the end of the season.

Galatasaray, according to aksam.com.tr are however not willing to give up on their desire to sign Onyekuru and will send representatives to France this week to discuss with Monaco officials on the possibility of buying the player.

Onyekuru has scored one goal in nine league appearances for Galatasaray following his arrival in January.

He is expected to be in action when Galatasaray take on leaders Istanbul Basaksehir in a league clash on Saturday.
