The Chairman of ICMA Profesional Services, Alhaji Awa Ibraheem on Thursday August 16, 2024, donated a brand new 375 Mercy Ferguson Tractor, worth thirty- five million naira to Ilorin Golf Club, while also promising to sponsor a Pro-Am Open Golf Championship, tagged “ICMA Pro-Am Open” on the straight 18 holes course before the end of the year.
Alhaji Awa described the gesture as “giving back to his community”.
The Offa-born philanthropist had earlier in 2015, donated a similar brand of tractor to the club during the Captaincy of Mallam Faruk Ismail.
According to him, “there is nothing too much to give towards the development of golf in the country”.

Receiving the keys and papers of the tractor on behalf of the Club, the BOT Chairman Hon. Justice Lambo Akanbi (rtd) thanked the business magnate for his kind gesture, and urged him not to relent in helping Ilorin Golf Club return back to its place of pride among the golfing community.
Earlier in his remark the Captain of the Club, Jide Allen recounted how nine year’s ago, as the Vice Captain to Mallam Faruk Ismail, he received a brand new tractor from the same donor, who hardly plays on the course but never tired of contributing to the development of the Club.
Allen was also full of praises for Mallam Faruk Ismail, the Partner of Awa Ibraheem, for facilitating the donation of the tractor to the Club.
Other golfers present, who gave goodwill messages at the ceremony included Barrister Jumoke Adebayo Orire, the Club’s Lady Captain, Charles Ojolo, Barrister Tony Gbegbaje, Barrister Lukman Owolewa, Dr. Oba Hassan Kadir, Professor Dibu Ojerinde and Mrs Evelyn Oyome, the President Ladies Golfers Association of Nigeria (LGAN).
