Kwara FA releases Football Council Elections timetable, guidelines

The Kwara State Football Association today, drew and released the time table and guidelines for Football Council Elections, after the meeting attended by the Electoral and Appeals Committees of the Kwara State Football Association, with the 16 Local Football Councils.

The meeting, which was Chaired by the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, was staged to acquaint the stakeholders of the forthcoming elections at the grassroots, and the guidelines for the elections.

According to the time table made available by the FA, selling of nomination forms into all offices in the Football Council of the 16 Local Government Areas of the state will commence tomorrow Tuesday February 21, 2023, while the latest date for the return of forms will be March 6th, 2023.

Screening of all contestants will hold at the Football House, Kwara State Stadium Complex on 7th March, 2023, beginning from 10.00am, as the list of successful aspirants is expected to be displayed on 8th March, 2023.

Equally, Appeals (if any), after the display of the successful aspirants’ lists will be entertained on 9th March, 2023, after which the final list of successful and qualified aspirants will be made public.

The Elections for the Football Councils for all the 16 Local Government Areas have been scheduled to hold at the Football House on 18th March, 2023.

While commending the Electoral and Appeals Committee for drawing up an acceptable time table in line with the schedules of the FA and the Nigeria Football Federation, the Chairman of the Kwara Football Association, Mallam Idris Abdullah Musa thanked the stakeholders for their support so far.

He Commended members of the outgoing Football Councils for supporting the cause of football development atvthe grassroots, even as he charged would-be aspirants to ensure that all rules and guidelines are adhered to completely, adding that no rule will be compromised.

The members of the Kwara State Football Association Electoral Committee members are Alhaji Saliu Ojibara (Chairman), Alhaji Abdulkareem Ayinde and Barrister Anthony Kayode Towoju.

In the Appeals Committee are Mr Emmanuel Dada Obafemi (Chairman), Mrs Serah Bola Esan and Professor AbdulGafar Ijaiya.
