Kwara Sports Ambassadors constitute Exco, BoT, plans CAC registration

The Association of Kwara State Sports Ambassadors at its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 28th December, 2022, held at the Conference Room of the Kwara State Sports Commission constituted a five-man Management Committee that will piloted the affairs of the body, with the plan to complete the composition in a later date.

The Management Committee has Dr. S. T. Bakinde as Chairman, while other members include Elder Dele Oguntokun (member), Hajia Kemi Jimoh (member), Dr. Mohammed Aluko (member), and Coach Suleiman Tajudeen as the Secretary.

The Association equally constituted a three-man Board of Trustees (BoT). They are Engr. Shehu Umar, Mallam Bola Mogaji, who is the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission and Mallam Ibrahim Bako, with the plan to have two more personalities nominated as members of the BoT.

The aims and objectives of the Association of Kwara State Sports Ambassadors is to have a formidable group that will partner with the government in the area of grassroots sports development in the state.

Among its specific roles, which includes but not limited to the provision of support in both cash and kind are to contribute to the development of sports at local, state and national levels, to organize, protect, defend, control and promote all sports at local and state level in particular, and at the national level and as well co-operate with any other related organizations in the state/country having similar aims and objectives as the Association.

Also among its objectives was to foster and strengthen the bonds of unity among related organizations wherever they may be, to create awareness of grassroots sports development, administration/management through symposiums, seminars, and lectures, and to make contributions for the advancement and promotion of members and sports through chargeable or benevolent activities and organizations.

Kwara Sports Ambassador has been in existence for more than 50 years, as individual sportsmen and sportswomen have been meeting to discuss developmental issues bordering on sports development in general, with specific reference to grassroots sports development.

Efforts are also on to have the Association registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
