*Kaduna finishes 3rd
Kwara State has emerged champions of the YSFON/Chief of Naval Staff U-14 National Soccer tournament after, edging out Enugu State with a narrow 1-0 victory in the final match.
The highly competitive encounter was held at Pitch A of the PCK Stadium in Kaduna, where the Kwara boys displayed excellent teamwork and determination to secure the lone goal that crowned them champions of the prestigious youth tournament.
In the third-place match, host state Kaduna put up a commanding performance to defeat Bayelsa 3-0, thereby clinching the bronze medal in front of their home crowd.
The tournament, organized by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy, is aimed at discovering and nurturing young football talents across the country.
Speaking after the final, organizers commended all participating teams for their discipline and sportsmanship, noting that the competition continues to play a vital role in grassroots football development in Nigeria.
With this victory, Kwara State solidifies its reputation as a powerhouse in youth football, while Kaduna’s third-place finish highlights the depth of talent in the northern region.
