A contingent of 71 athletes and officials of the Kwara state Sports Commission departed Ilorin this morning, Sunday February 23, 2025, for Jos, to partake in the North Central zonal eliminations ahead the National Sports Festival.

While addressing the contingent yesterday evening, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara state Sports Commission, Coach Bola Magaji charged the athletes to go for victory as that is the ticket to the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta.

He told them to put in their best and qualify from the zone to make their participation at the Festival a sure one.

He urged the athletes to put up the winning spirit with determination to make the state proud in Jos.

The Commission’s contingent, being led by the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako will participate in four sports namely cricket, football, beach volleyball and volleyball.

The North Central Zonal Eliminations will hold 23 to 28 February in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
