Kwara state Football Association has charged both House of Prayer FA and NA Royals to ensure that the only slot available in their ongoing NLO play-off group comes to Kwara state.
The quartet of NA Royals, House of Prayer FA, Maikunkele United and Zeal Minds are currently slugging it out at the Bwari Stadium, in Abuja, in the play-off, where one of them is expected to qualify for the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The Chairman of the FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, who has been with the teams in Abuja since the commencement of the last round of qualifiers commended the teams, charging them to end the journey in favour of the state.
NA Royals lost their first match to state rivals, House of Prayer FA by 2-1, but while House of Prayer consolidated on their chances by playing out a one-all draw with Maikunkele United, NA Royals lost the second match by a lone goal to Zeal Minds FC, on day two.
With House of Prayer in pole position to nick the sole slot, Mallam Idris, popularly known as Thuraya charged them to beat Zeal Minds, to guanrantee that the slot comes to Kwara state. He equally tasked NA Royals to avoid defeat against Maikunkele United.
“I am here because of the two of you who are representing Kwara state, and since the first match between you went the way of House of Prayers FA, which has gone ahead to play draw against Maikunkele, I enjoin House of Prayers FA to beat Zeal Minds to win this slot, which is very important to us in the state.
After two rounds of matches, both Maikunkele United and House of Prayer have four points, but are separated on goal difference. Maikunkele has two surplus goals, while House of Prayers FA has one, while Zeal Minds FC and NA Royals have three and zero points respectively, to come third and fourth.
A win for House of Prayer will win them the slot, but that will be if NA Royals can impede the success of Maikunkele United, by avoiding defeat against them.
The last round of matches comes up tomorrow, June 22, 2025, by 1.00pm, simultaneously. Zeal Minds will take on House of Prayers FA at Bwari Stadium, while Maikunkele United and NA Royals will do battle at Area 3 Pitch, Abuja.
