*Three Coaches to benefit NIS sponsorship
The Chairman of Offa Football Council, Alhaji Azeez Omoluabi has commended the founder of MOK Foundation, Alhaji Muyideen Okunola, for sponsoring the two-day Kwara Football Coaching Seminar organised for grassroots foitball coaches across Kwara State, which begins in Offa, today Friday October 9, 2026.
Omoluabi, who initiated the seminar, gave the commendation while speaking with journalists in Offa, the headquarters of Offa Local Government Area.
He described Okunola as a dependable supporter of grassroots football development, noting that his consistent contributions had played a significant role in promoting coaching education and football development in the state.

“I must greatly appreciate Muyideen Okunola of MOK Foundation. Anytime I call on him, he is always supportive of our programmes,” Omoluabi said.
He further described the Foundation’s support as tremendous, adding that its contributions had made a positive impact on grassroots football development.
The Offa Football Council Chairman also called on other individuals, organisations and stakeholders to emulate the Foundation’s gesture by investing in grassroots football and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the quality of coaching in the state.
Speaking further, Omoluabi emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development among football coaches, particularly young coaches who are aspiring to make a lasting impact in the game.

He urged the participating coaches to take full advantage of the programme by upgrading their knowledge, developing their coaching talents and embracing modern football techniques.
He noted that football is constantly evolving, and coaches must continue to improve themselves if they want to remain relevant and contribute meaningfully to the development of young talents.
The seminar is therefore, seen as an important step towards strengthening grassroots football development in Kwara state, while creating an avenue for coaches to interact, share ideas and learn from experienced football professionals.
Omoluabi also encouraged the young coaches to remain committed, disciplined and dedicated to their career, stressing that opportunities such as this can help shape the future of football coaching in the state.

Former Nigeria U-20 national team, Flying Eagles coach, Aliyu Zubair, who is currently serving as Head Coach of Sudanese Premier League club Al-Ahli Wad Madani, and his Assistant, Coach Lookman Ijaiya delivered both theory and practical lectures at the impactful seminar.
Zubair spoke on the theme, “Coaching Methodology and Importance of Passing Drills,” at the event held at Avalon Hotel in Offa, Kwara State.
The seminar attracted over 38 coaches from different parts of the state, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and professional development in grassroots football coaching.
Three Coaches will be selected from the seminar, which is primarily designed to enhance the capacity of grassroots football coaches, to benefit from National Institute of Sports (NIS) sponsorship, courtesy of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the state, Engr. Bolakale Kawu Agaka.


Among the notable personalities in attendance were the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Kwara State Chapter, Coach Tunde Sanni, among other prominent football stakeholders.
The two-day seminar forms part of efforts to strengthen grassroots football development in Kwara State through improved coaching knowledge, modern training methods and capacity building for coaches.
The practical session held at the Mini-Stadium of the Federal Polytechnic pitch. The seminar ends tomorrow.
