The stage is set for the opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the Kwara state Commissioner of Police Cup football competition scheduled to hold on Tuesday August 5, 2025, at Kwara State Football Academy, from 2. 30pm.

Details of the competition released by the organizers, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria ( YSFON) Kwara state chapter made available by the Media Officer, Mr Yusuf Feruke disclosed that the Executive Governor of the state, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony.

Also expected to grace the occasion are His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CP Adekimi Ojo, Psc, Mnips, Guest of Honour, the Executive Chairman, Kwara state Sports Commission, Coach Bola Magaji will be the Chief Host.

Others are; Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, Chairman, Kwara State Football Association, Mrs Catherine Aseni Adekimi, Chairperson, Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Kwara state and Prince Ademola Kiyesola, Chairman Kwara YSFON.

According to YSFON, all Kwara state U-13 and U-17 Boys and U-17 Girls teams are eligible for tournament, as the U-17 Girls version of the tournament is tagged POWA U-17 Girls Cup 2025.
