The National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to publish its relief package for clubs in the league as it being done across the globe.
Referencing the Senegal Football Federation relief package, NANPF on Friday, through its Secretary General, Austin Popo, made a call asking the NFF to follow the trend of other football association in doing so as sacking of players and staffs increases by the day due to insufficient funds for the upkeep of the teams.
“Following the disturbing development of the ongoing incessant sacking or suspension of players and coaches wages by some clubs hinged on the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Nigeria players Union NANPF wants the NFF to follow the trend of other football federations across the globe to publish the palliative monies From FIFA and (CAF) received and distributed to clubs in the various leagues, to forestall any possibility of diversions for the purpose of accountability, integrity and transparency.”
“This is not happening to Nigeria alone and we are no longer comfortable with so many players already been sacked due to the pandemic issue,” Popo further lamented.
