The 16 Local Government Football Council Chairmen in Kwara state will be in Lagos for the final of the 2025 President Federation Cup on the bill of the State FA.

As preparations hots up for Saturday’s Federation Cup final, the Chairman of the Football Association, Mallam Idris Abdulahi Musa decided to throw his full weight behind Kwara United in their quest to win the coveted trophy.

The Chairman, fondly called Thuraya, is sponsoring the Chairmen of the 16 LG Football Councils to Lagos, all expenses paid, including accommodation and feeding.

The delegation also includes Retired FIFA Referee, Emmanuel Dada Obafemi and Chairman Kwara YSFON, Mallam Ademola Kiyesola. The Chairman of Patigi Football Council, Engineer Idris Etsu Jibril will lead the FA special team.

While reacting to the development, Thuraya said that the gesture became necessary, to step up support for the team, and to systematically assist grassroots development.

“The Federation Cup is a competition organized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), under the auspices of FIFA which attaches great importance to grassroots football development. We therefore owe it a duty to make our 16 LG Football Council Chairmen to be part of the great event”

Kwara United will this Saturday, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, trade tackles with Abakaliki FC in the final of this year’s President Federation Cup which is considered to be Nigeria’s most prestigious domestic soccer competition.
