Kwara State Scrabble Association will hold a ‘Train the Trainers’ Workshop for the Association of School Sports Officers (ASSPO), in Kwara State, tomorrow Wednesday 16th February, 2022.
The all encompassing Workshop, which will have both theory and practical lessons will commence from 10am, at Government High School, Adeta, Ilorin.
According to the Chairman of the Association, Mr Olumayowa Kabir Aliyu, the Training the Trainers Workshop is for School Sports Officers from Kwara Central Zone (Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Asa Local Government Areas).
He added that the Kwara State Scrabble Association is expected to subsequently extent the Workshop to Kwara South and Kwara North Senatorial Districts respectively.
He said that the aim of organizing the Workshop was part of the bid to develop the game of scrabble from the grassroots, using Sports Officers.
The workshop, he added, is also aimed at finding ways to engage the youths in using their free periods positively, by learning and playing the game of scrabble.
The Chairman had earlier disclosed the plans of the association to take the game to schools, in a bid to introduce the young ones to the basics of the game.
