Sponsor, partners emerge for Kwara President Federation Cup final

Helbank International Limited has emerged as main sponsor for the final of the much awaited President Federation Cup in Kwara state.

The shipping company is owned by the Vice Chairman of Kwara State Football Association, Bashorun Kayode Bankole.

Helbank will be supported by partners who include Cyteck Engineering Construction and Technology Limited, owned by Engineer Olaide Ahmed and Let’s Brandit, the House of Quality Branding.

The move, according to the Chairman of Kwara FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, was to make the final of the President Federation Cup in Kwara entertaining and competitive.

Defending champions, Kwara United Football Club and Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club will play in the male final beginning from 4.00pm, for placement ahead of the President Federation Cup national competition.

Kwara United defeated their U19 team on penalties in the first semi-final, while Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club beat Ka’ah FA 3-0 in the second semi-final, to both pick not only the final ticket, but a licence to participate in the National finals.

The final today will be graced by football enthusiasts and supporters of both teams, but with the bid to go far in the National finals more of a concern than who wins today’s final match.

The last time a Kwara team played in the final of the National competition was way back in 1976, when the defunct Alyuf Salam Rocks lost 2-0 to Rangers International of Enugu.

Kwara State Football Association has confirmed that the final today, Sunday 23, 2025, will hold at the Rashidi Yekini Main-Bowl of the George Agbazika Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin, and will be graced by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Magaji, and others.

Kwara Ladies United FC will engage Moje Queens FC Erin-Ile in the final of the female event, beginning from 2.00pm, before the male final between Kwara United FC and ABS Ilorin FC.

Others expected to grace the finals are the Chairman of Kwara FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, his Board members, Supporters and Fans of all the teams involved and lovers of the game.
