The National President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Dr Nasiru Gawuna  has sent a strong warning signal to the thirty-six states YSFON Executive members who have not been alive to their responsibilities these past years to sit up or get dissolved.

In a release signed by the National Secretary of YSFON, Olorogun Patrick Okpavuerhe on behalf of the National President, made available to the media today, the Nation’s foremost youth sports body says it can no longer fold its arms to see non-performing states executives deprive Nigerian youths the opportunity of reaping the benefits of sports development

The National Secretary says the Central Working Committee (CWC), under the leadership of the National President, met during the just concluded Ramat Cup U-16 boys Tournament in Kano and decided that all State Executive members must forward the names and designations of their members to the National Secretariat within two weeks.

Failure to comply, the state body will be deemed to be non- existent and will be dissolved accordingly.

YSFON says the move is in line with it’s aims and objectives and with the intention to reposition the entire body for effective performance

Reports say the CWC is frowning seriously at the carefree attitude of some State Executive members who have been idle and not participated in any National sports events or programmes for over five years. This YSFON feels its a great disservice to the youths and the Nation at large.

It therefore, concluded that elections will be held soon in areas identified as lacking in vibrant performance to give YSFON a new lease of life
